The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) is a professional body devoted to the cause of promotion and advancement of welding science and technology inIndia. Established in the year 1966, with its registered office at Kolkata, it has 11branches and one Chapter located all over India. About 4000 welding professionals and over 300 industrial / corporate bodies are members of this Institute.
The Indian Welding Journal (IWJ), the official technical journal of the institute is published quarterly with articles on all sections of welding technologies. IWJ is an effective media for product information and interactions between Manufacturers and Users in the field of welding.
Also, conferences, seminars, workshops, and tutorials are held regularly organised by branches of the Indian Institute of Welding. The National Welding Seminar / National Welding Meet held every year, is a meeting ground and a common platform for exchanging practical problem.
Besides, short courses on various aspects of Welding and allied practices, Inspection and NDT are held at different locations inIndia, sometimes jointly with other organisations or Institutions.

Indian Welding Society is a Professional Body devoted to welding in India.Head quartered inNew Delhi, IWS has a federal structure with five Zones and Centres attached to each zone.
IWS publishes a quarterly IWS JOURNAL, which is issued to its members. IWS is also a founder member of Asian Welding Federation (AWF). IWS in partnership with Messe DusseldorfIndia, Messe Essen, DVS (German Welding Society) conducts International Trade Fairs and Seminars in Welding & Cutting, Thermal Spray etc.
IWS is associating with IL&FS, IGNOU and other institutions for training grass root man power required for welding & fabrication industry. Further, IWS is working with various academic institutions in conducting Degree & Diploma, Courses, Certification & Distance Learning Programs in welding.

Welding Research Institute (WRI) was established by Government of India with UNIDO and UNDP assistance under the management of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited,Tiruchirappalli,India.
This Institute has been established to cater to the welding needs of the Indian welding industries and for contributing to the growth of welding and allied technologies. The major activities of the Institute include

- Dissemination of knowledge in welding
- Consultancy Services
The Institute has the following recognitions to its credit:
- Authorised by Indian Boiler regulations (IBR) for training and certification of welders
- Recognised by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) for testing of welding electrodes
- Centre for Doctoral research recognised by Its, IISc, NITT,AnnaUniversity,Tamilnadu,India.

AWPM aims to study the market for welding products and services in India and assist the Government in formulating proper mutually helpful policies in regard to such products. It also engages in Research and Knowledge Sharing Institutions / Educational Institutions/Universities in pursuing research / new developments relating to welding processes, products and services. Further, AWPM sponsors deserving Welding Technologists for higher education/specialization in welding technology with scholarships/financial supports.
AWPM also works towards improvement of Indian Standards for welding on the lines of AWS / DNI etc. Besides, it also closely work with Raw Material manufacturers/ suppliers (Steel, Rutile, Chemicals, etc) for development, quality and supply related issues. The association interacts with the various Government Agencies and various Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Export Promotion Councils and other Revenue Agencies for growth oriented approaches/policies towards the welding industry.

Indian Welding Dealers Association works to promote, further advance and benefit trade or business of welding and allied materials as well as industrial safety equipments. It also works to foster and develop the relation of mutual help amongst persons, firms, companies directly or indirectly interested in the welding and allied trade either as manufacturers, importers or dealers.

The All India Weldedmesh Manufacturer’s Association is a national body of Manufacturer’s of Weldedmesh inIndia. It is headed by a core group of a President, Zonal Vice-Presidents and Working Secretaries.
